Katherine Heigl has revealed that she grew up in a bubble of white and how this experience impacted the way she raised her adopted, multiracial kids. In an interview with she spoke about the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy", actress revealed her body didn't matter to her, however, after talking to her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society was treating them, she became aware of how much different the two were. "I inquired of my sister, Meg whether she'd been treated one way when she went out in public with our parents, and another way when she was out alone without them. She replied "Oh, yes, every time!" Heigl revealed to Parents that she realized how naive she had been. She admitted that she was angry and felt the need to use this anger to assist her children. Heigl has a four-year old son who is married to her 13 year old spouse, Josh Kelley. Their child Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is a Black 8-year old girl that they adopted in 2012.
