Laura Linney is an American actor, who became popular for her portrayal of vulnerable but strong characters. When she was a child, spending time at the house of her father her interest grew in theater. While at Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. Within a mere two months after graduating, she launched her Broadway-based career. Following that, she made her debut in TV and film. Since then, she has performed in many films and stage and TV productions. Through her entire career, she has received numerous awards. These comprise the two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. She has been nominated for five Tony Awards, and three Oscar Award nominations. But, in spite of her recognitions and awards, stage is where she's at and she'll continue to perform on screen and stage.
