One child was strapped onto my back while the other crawled in the playpen. I spent 12 hours days over months of sanding, and removing wallpaper, while carrying one kid. Ha! It was all starting to take shape, however it wasn't quite finished. This was going take the time, energy, and of course my favourite shopping experience to furnish this house. For my budget to remain intact, I went with three of my boys to look for deals at estate sales. Our weekly routine which consisted of spending the week from Friday through Saturday at sale houses and garages, shopping for new and used objects. The rest of the week working on painting and sanding the driveway. The look was a little similar to the following... Here is the place where my passion for restoring antique furniture started. Although our house was equipped, I couldn't stop. I rented a booth at the local market and even sold some items there. Eventually, I had too many pieces to store in the room available. Open houses were held at my house where 1 000 people could visit over a weekend, and they could purchase anything on the ground level. Growing Days was created in this home. As my business flourished, so did our little family. In some ways, I had found the perfect balance between being a mum and launching my company. Growing Days fit perfectly. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora became our fourth daughter. The direction of my business was great, but I needed to get some down time. I got away from furniture that was vintage to enjoy more quality time with my children. That was precisely the thing I needed. However after a few months after that, the phone began to ring. There were calls from people asking me to help them with decorating their homes and interiors. A majority of those calling me were people who had came to my house at one of my furniture open house events. Once I had a few months I began to take on customers according to my schedule. In no time, I was managing multiple accounts, as well as a house remodeling business. Most likely, I would have laughed if someone had told me the business was going to be part of a forthcoming tv program on DIY Network. It's true that I amused when I think of the idea.
