April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, started taking guitar and piano lessons at seven years old. The passion for songwriting was awakened. When April was 12 She composed her debut single called Different. She spent a lot of time at 14 composing songs and experimenting with the piano. Soon after, April started traveling with her father as well as write her songs at home in NY or LA. April added other themes to the tune "Take My Hand" to help her friends who dealt with concerns like peer pressure issues, or even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart also has an ever-growing following as a lifestyle influencer and works for popular brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. It's true that she was born without a left hand and that makes her unique. It's not the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart's Twitter profile does not shy away from her being disabled, but neither does it make a point of it. What message is it sending? We are all more than our physical selves. Still she admits she's gone through phases of her body, at times, not being confident in wearing certain types of clothing showing off her arms. The woman now puts on whatever clothes she wants and posts pictures on Facebook in awe. Self-love she said is a kind of journey. "I don't think you'll ever get in that place," she said.
