Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to receive a score of a perfect of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci at just 6 years old. Comaneci competed for the first time in the national junior championships, placing 13th. In the following year, she became champion. The first time she competed in an international competition in a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975 she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. At her first competition as a senior, in 1975 she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals and one silver. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman to perform a reverse double salto, which is dismounting from the uneven bars parallel to each other. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment industry began during her teens, when she began skating figure alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business in her teens. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows named Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events with theatrical shows.
